Dr Peter Fletcher
Dr. Fletcher qualified in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1979 and following posts in Birmingham, London and the Southwest; he became a consultant physician and geriatrician in Cheltenham in 1989. His special interests include Parkinson’s disease, memory disorders and medical education, the latter resulting in an MSc in Medical Education from Cardiff in 1998. His roles outside his day job have included being University Clinical Tutor for 5 years up until 2001 and Clinical Director of both medicine and care of the elderly/rehabilitation directorates. This latter post until the merger with the neighbouring Gloucestershire Royal Trust in April 2002. Since then he has become one of two Associate Medical Directors for the new Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust. Educationally he is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians in London (MRCP) and for the University of Bristol Medical School (final MB). His most recent appointment is to the University of Bristol Academy Dean post in Gloucestershire.
